At Hornby High we have been asked how we can have a positive impact on our community?

To do this first we had to choose a topic. I chose drugs and alcohol because it is something that I think affects too many people in our community and I would like to find some way to make a difference. We formed a group called "The Smooth Cactus"

To help us understand drugs and alcohol further we needed to find websites that gave us information on what is what and what you can do. Here is a list of the websites we found:

 We then had to answer some questions about our topic:

Who is affected? Family, friends, children,

What are the issues? could die.

When and how did this start? by someone telling them its good but not telling them, it has the negative effect like brain damage

Where is it happening? at home, at work, at school at stores and parks

Why is this happening? to feel good, to relieve stress, their addicted to it

Then we had to say what we plan to do to help solve this issue:

we will put posters to help them understand the consequences of the issues
